Another of my early creations, but one that the kids can have a lot of fun with.
You are showing a picture of grandma and suddenly it turns into grandpa.
The base of this set is the head. On it’s own it could be your bald uncle from the other side of the country who shows up at Christmas to pig out on the food.
Add some glasses and whit hair and you have grandpa, ready to get dressed up as Santa and listen to a hundred wishes for Barbie dolls and bicycles.
PICTURE OF GRANDPA
Grandpa steps into a time machine and sheds 30 years. He no longer needs his glasses and his hair is thick and brown again.
PICTURE OF DAD
Starting to let himself go a little, dad goes without a haircut for almost 17 months and becomes mom.
PICTURE OF MOM
The time machine experiences a blast of neutron radiation originating from Orion 5 and send mom back to 30 years in the future where she came from. She is so shocked, her hair turns white.
Find a picture for the vocabulary you’re teaching. Print it out and cut it into smaller pieces. These will be puzzle pieces.
To make it a little easier I created the shadow card which has the shadow shape of the vocabulary word. The kids can try to place the pieces correctly on the shadow of the picture.
The thin kind of double-sided tape does well to stick the pieces to the card.
Tip: to stop the pieces fully sticking to the card, first stick the pieces to your shirt, some other clothing or a cloth. The lint will make it just the right stickiness.
